Ethics and Modernity

Welcome to my website!

I'm glad you've come to visit! This website is an analysis of capitalist and socialist economics from moral, technical, and historical perspectives, as well as an argument for the implementation of social democracy in the world's economic systems. Using case studies including the European Union, Chile, and New Zealand, as well as contributions from some of history and modern academia's most prolific progressive political thinkers, I'll be presenting a brand new perspective on ethics and modernity, and advocating for social democracy in the process.

Major Philosophers

In this website, I will be documenting the following major political and philosophical thinkers: Friedrich Nietzsche, Adam Smith, Karl Marx, and Martin Heidegger. Each of these men were incredibly important to the theories of Western philosophy, and their ideas will be summarized and responded to in the Prominent Thinkers section in order to provide context for the Ethics and Modernity article included on the next page.

Some of my case study countries!

I will analyze three major case studies: the European Union, Chile, and New Zealand. Each of these are effective representations of social democracies in various stages: the EU represents an older and more developed social democracy, New Zealand represents a social democracy that has recently stabilized after major policy shifts towards- and away- from social democratic ideals, and Chile represents a country that has just embraced social democracy and has yet to fully implement it. These case studies will thus give compelling information about every stage of the social democratic experiment.
